Iceland

Iceland  is a republic-wide island of the same name and associated smaller islands. Iceland is located in the North Atlantic between Greenland and the British Isles, just south of the Arctic Circle. Despite this situation, the country has a milder winter climate than northern Sweden as gentle streams of water out past the island of North Atlantic operations, however, can be quite chilly summers and have a lot of precipitation.

Iceland is widely regarded as the world's oldest still active democracy. The Icelandic parliament has its roots in the things which were held in 930 at Thingvellir. Island in 2006, the world's highest living standards with a Human Development Index of 0.968, but decreased in the financial crisis of 2008.

With about 3 inhabitants / km ² is Iceland the least populated country in Europe

Denmark

Denmark, formally the Kingdom of Denmark, is a constitutional monarchy in Northern Europe. The real Denmark bordering Germany in the South and maritime against Sweden in the east and Norway to the north. To Denmark belong, in concept Rigsfællesskabet, the Faroe Islands and Greenland, both with a developed self-government. Denmark is administratively divided into five regions and 98 municipalities since 1 January 2007. Denmark has approximately 5.5 million inhabitants, of whom nearly a quarter of the city of Copenhagen. 72 islands were inhabited the 1 January 2008.

Denmark is a parliamentary democracy where the government must have the Danish Parliament, the People's Parliament, the confidence to be left under the Constitution. The country joined in 1973 by the European Community, which later became the European Union. Faroe Islands chose not to join with the rest of Denmark, including Greenland. After a referendum, Greenland withdrew from the EC in 1985 because of disputes over fishing rights. Denmark is a member of OECD, NATO, UN and many other international organizations, and participates in the Schengen cooperation.

The name of Denmark is derived from the Germanic ethnic group Danes mentioned the 500's.


                                 

Norway

Norway, formally the Kingdom of Norway (Norwegian: kingdom Empire Norway), is a constitutional monarchy in Northern Europe, west of Sweden on the Scandinavian Peninsula. Apart from Sweden, Norway has land borders with Russia and Finland in the northernmost parts. The nearby islands of Svalbard, Bear Island and Jan Mayen are under Norwegian autonomy and considered as part of the kingdom, while Bouvet Island in the South Atlantic Ocean and Peter I Island in the South Pacific are subordinate to Norway, but not counted as part of the empire. Norway has also claimed the Queen Maud Land in Antarctica.

Norway as a country name could have been just as Sweden, that is the kingdom of Sweden, but the Norwegian was the cake dropped in what otherwise would have been called Norige, ie Norrike. In Nynorsk derived country name Noreg to Old Norse Norðrvegr, Norvegr, Noregr, "the road to the north" (cf. English "Norway").

Norway is one of the nations that founded the military alliance NATO in 1949 and is still there and participate in some joint military exercises annually under joint NATO flag.

Sweden!

With an area of ​​449,964 km ², Sweden is the size the fifth largest country in Europe and has a population of more than 9.4 million people. Sweden has a low population density with 21 inhabitants per km ², but with a significantly higher density in the southern half of the country. About 85% of the population lives in urban areas and this proportion is expected to increase.  Sweden's capital is Stockholm, which is the country's largest city with 1.4 million inhabitants in the urban area and a total of 2.1 million inhabitants in the metropolitan area. Sweden's second largest city, Gothenburg with 550 000 inhabitants in the urban area and a total of about 930 000 inhabitants in the metropolitan area. The third largest city, Malmo with 280 000 inhabitants in the urban areas and 660,000 in the metropolitan area.
